Portraits | Films | Stories That Stay

This isn’t just a portfolio.
It’s a living archive of women becoming — captured in light and motion.

I’m Carla — a photographer and storyteller creating emotional portraiture for mothers, for women, for memory.

This is where I gather the stories I’ve been entrusted to tell:
Cinematic photo essays.
Short legacy films.
Portraits for the now, made for what’s to come.

These are not sessions.
They’re stories.

If you’re ready for something honest, poetic, and real — I’m open.
Let’s begin.

Storytelling Services .

For the moments that slip between words — these sessions are created to hold what matters most. Emotional, intuitive, and artfully led, each one is a collaboration, shaped by your story and told in light.

Motherhood Stories.

In these sessions, we go beyond simply taking pictures. I aim to create emotive storytelling through portraiture that does more than serve as proof that you existed — it shows that you lived fully and loved madly.

These are slow, intentional sessions that celebrate the quiet power of mothers with their children — the long embraces, the subtleties of affection, the art of simply being together. You’re invited to pause, to soften, and to be seen — just as you are in this season.

These sessions are open to mothers with children of all ages — from newborns to toddlers, teens to adults. They’re also perfect for generational sessions, honouring the lineage between mothers, daughters, and grandmothers.

You may choose a storytelling portrait session, a cinematic short film, or combine both — creating a still-and-motion legacy your children will return to for years to come.

Womenhood Stories.

My approach to photography is one of intimacy and reverence. I strive to create images that not only reflect the unique beauty of each woman I photograph, but also tell her story in a way that feels true to her spirit.

Each portrait is a quiet conversation — a shared moment where vulnerability meets artistry, revealing the strength, softness, and inner world that lives just beneath the surface.

I believe every woman, regardless of age, background, body type, or identity, holds within her a universe of stories waiting to be seen. My goal is to offer a space where those stories are honoured — where you can see yourself, maybe for the first time, in a way that feels whole.

I create honest, artful portraiture and short cinematic films for women — especially mothers — at every stage of becoming. These are not just sessions. They are visual stories, made to hold the love, loss, softness, and strength of womanhood in motion.

Behind The Lens

Carla Silva

I’m Carla — a photographer, a mother, and a woman still becoming.
My work is rooted in personal truth — shaped by what I’ve lived, what I’ve lost, and what I’ve come to hold sacred. I create these portraits and films as a way to honour what’s fleeting: love, presence, connection, memory.

This work began with my own story — the loss of my mother and the birth of my daughter — and it’s grown into something bigger. A space for women to be seen. A way to leave something behind.

These aren’t just sessions. They’re stories. And I would be honoured to help you tell yours.
